Ensuring Safe Childcare the Importance of Conducting Background Checks for Nanny Referrals

How many times has a recommendation algorithm randomly popped up a feed about an infant being brutally mistreated by someone in-charge? More often than not, by a sweet-looking nanny in her teens or a middle-aged caretaker referred by a close friend or relative.

If you haven’t sensed these chills down your spine, consider yourself blessed. But turning blind eyes to these gross atrocities may not call for a wise move. A deceitful,

an unqualified or psychologically unstable nanny might be on the prowl, plotting against your loving neighbor’s innocent toddler. Will you just be an on-looker, or will you take things in your hand?

Why are Referrals not enough?

You can receive a dozen phone calls and conduct in-person interviews during your hiring process, but sometimes a referral may overshadow some bad qualities in a nanny. You may be in trouble if:

1/ Your child feels anxious or scared of the nanny.

2/ Your nanny doesn’t share details about the babysitting schedule with you.

3/ Your child has been in some sort of accident that could have been easily prevented.

4/ Your nanny doesn’t keep up with timelines.

5/ Your nanny often cooks up too many stories.

Don’t Go by your Gut.

Sometimes, it is totally possible for you to meet someone for the first time and instantly fall in love. with the personality, nurturing skills, and characteristics of someone whom you consider could be a good caretaker for your baby, but hold on for a second. There are some things that don’t meet the eye – a criminal record or an identity mismatch, to begin with. That’s when you need to get a nanny background check done!
